What the publication is for
Proxy Index publishes comparative benchmark evidence to help buyers evaluate proxy products. Reports describe an observed product line, sample, target mix, geography, and time window. They are decision inputs, not guarantees of future performance or instructions for using a proxy network.
A rank or score does not certify a provider, its customers, its sourcing practices, or every endpoint it operates. Buyers remain responsible for their own due diligence.
Buyer responsibilities
- Comply with applicable law, target-site rules, provider terms, and contractual restrictions.
- Do not use a report as permission for unauthorized access, fraud, harassment, evasion, abuse, or interference with another service.
- Use the smallest collection scope and request rate that can answer the legitimate business or research question.
- Protect credentials, session material, personal data, and any data collected through a proxy service.
- Re-test the provider against the buyer's own targets, regions, concurrency, and failure tolerance before committing spend.
Evidence limits
Public evidence is aggregate and deliberately redacted. Credentials, endpoint hosts and ports, raw observations, raw attempt errors, and observed exit IPs are not published. Redaction protects systems and providers, but it also limits what a third party can independently replay.
Missing evidence stays missing. A diagnostic result, thin sample, low-confidence window, or incomplete comparison set should not be upgraded into a market-wide claim.
Citing and reusing results
- Link to the specific report or export version used, not only the homepage.
- Include the benchmark window, publication or revision date, proxy class, and material caveats.
- Do not remove diagnostic-only labels or present a historical revision as current.
- Do not imply that Proxy Index endorses a product, campaign, or derived claim.
- Provider names, logos, favicons, and other marks remain the property of their respective owners.
Status of this guidance
Proxy Index may correct, supersede, or retire a current publication as new evidence or a verified error requires. Historical benchmark artifacts remain available unless a separate security, privacy, or legal need requires removal.
