Bart Proxies vs Nstdata: what 30 days of real site tests showed

I bought ISP proxies from both and loaded Amazon, Google, Walmart, Zillow and Instagram through them every day. Bart got through more often on four of the five sites.

I bought 25 static ISP IPs from Bart Proxies and 50 from Nstdata, the provider that used to be called NSTProxy. Every day I open Amazon, Google, Walmart, Zillow and Instagram through each IP and check whether the real page came back. My home connection loads the same pages at the same time, so a day when a site blocks everyone doesn't count against the proxy.

The short answer

Bart Proxies loaded more real pages on four of the five sites, and costs more per IP. Neither one is any use for Google.

Where they differ most

Instagram is the clearest gap. Bart got through on 630 of 631 visits. Nstdata got through on about half, and Instagram blocked 336 of its visits outright.

Nstdata's numbers carry a second problem. 18 of its 50 IPs have failed every uptime check since October 11, and every visit through one of them times out. That costs it roughly 250 visits on each site. Those IPs are still in the batch I bought, and the results count them.

Google

Google refused all 582 of Bart's visits. Nstdata got 91 pages out of 1,073, and most of the rest hit a captcha. My home connection was refused on 12 of the test days too, so Google is hard on automated visits in general, not only on these two.

Price

Bart charges $3.00 an IP a month, with a 25-IP minimum. Nstdata charges $2.38 an IP for 5 to 20 IPs, dropping to $1.38 at 201 or more. Nstdata is cheaper per IP, but more than a third of the IPs I got from it didn't work.

Speed

Pages that loaded took about the same time on both: 4.1 seconds for a typical page on Bart, 4.2 on Nstdata.

Which one I'd buy

For Amazon, Walmart or Instagram, Bart. For Google, neither. If price matters more than misses, Nstdata at volume costs less than half as much per IP, but check every IP before you rely on it.

Why Proxy “Success Rate” Numbers Disagree

One set of network events can produce several honest percentages. The number becomes comparable only when its unit, denominator, validator, retries, and taxonomy are visible.
