What is a residential proxy
A residential proxy routes your traffic through a real person’s home internet connection, with their provider’s address attached. Sites treat it like ordinary household traffic, which makes these proxies hard to detect and block. Addresses rotate from a large pool, so each request can look like a different visitor. That suits high-volume scraping of well-defended targets. The trade-off is speed and stability: you are borrowing real home connections, and they come and go.
If you need one steady address that still looks residential, ISP proxies hold a single identity for months. If your target doesn’t fight automation, datacenter proxies do the job for far less money.
